Introduction

Lianson Fleet Group Berhad, formerly Icon Offshore Berhad, is a Bursa-listed marine logistics provider based in Malaysia. The group owns and operates a fleet of offshore support vessels serving the upstream oil and gas industry, alongside marine transport and well services across Southeast Asia.

The group’s fleet spans offshore support vessels such as anchor handling tug supply vessels, accommodation workboats, and platform supply vessels, as well as tug-and-barge sets and dry bulk carriers. These assets support the offshore oil and gas life cycle and the movement of bulk commodities across the region. AR2024 was the group’s first annual report under the Lianson Fleet Group name, following its rebranding from Icon Offshore.

Walk Production was appointed to design the 2024 annual reporting project, with a scope encompassing conceptual development, visual and layout design, infographic elements, print production, and full project management. The objective was to communicate the group’s standing as a regional marine logistics player serving the energy sector.

Our Solutions

Concept development and creative direction

The design concept drew on the group’s maritime operations, with a visual system rooted in offshore support vessels, marine transport, and the waters of Southeast Asia. The treatment reflected the move from Icon Offshore to Lianson Fleet Group, positioning the report as a marker of the group’s regional direction.

The creative direction emphasised operational breadth and regional reach through a colour palette and graphic system suited to a marine energy services group. Sea- and route-inspired graphics linked chapter sections and held visual continuity between the offshore support vessel, marine transport, and well services divisions. The aesthetic communicated the operational standards expected of a Bursa-listed company serving the upstream oil and gas sector.

Visual and layout design

The yearly report layout structured operational content across logical sections, with each business division presented through consistent formatting and visual treatment. Financial data, operational highlights, and corporate governance were organised to support clear navigation across all report chapters.

Custom performance data graphics translated operational metrics into visual summaries, including fleet utilisation rates, vessel availability, and charter activity presented through charts and comparison graphics. Photography of offshore support vessels, marine transport operations, and offshore activities was integrated alongside data to provide tangible visual context for each business division. Each page balanced quantitative information with narrative content to create a comprehensive reading experience for shareholders and industry stakeholders.

Walk Production managed the complete print production process, from pre-press preparation through to final delivery of printed copies. Colour accuracy, paper stock selection, and binding specifications were coordinated to produce a professional publication that meets corporate standards expected of a listed company.

Full project management covered timeline coordination between content approval, design revisions, and print scheduling throughout the production period. The production workflow maintained quality controls at each stage, including colour matching, material quality checks, and binding inspection before final delivery. Regular progress reviews between the creative team and the client supported efficient decision-making and helped deliver the report within the required corporate reporting deadline.

The Results

The completed annual report presents Lianson Fleet Group’s operations through a professional format that sets out the group’s marine logistics capabilities and regional reach. The publication communicates the breadth of services across the offshore support vessel, marine transport, and well services divisions in a unified corporate document.

The visual concept gives the report a memorable anchor that ties the group’s service offerings to a single corporate identity, supporting its rebranding from Icon Offshore. Print production quality reinforces the corporate standard expected of a publicly listed company. The report serves as a reference document for shareholders, analysts, business partners, and regulatory bodies assessing the group’s annual performance.

Why is concept development important for annual reports?

A strong concept provides a visual theme that unifies the entire report under a single creative idea. For diversified companies operating across multiple business divisions, concepts help connect different operational areas under a shared narrative. This makes the publication more cohesive, memorable, and easier for readers to navigate across different content sections.

What does print management involve for annual reports?

Print management covers pre-press file preparation, colour proofing, paper stock selection, binding specification, and delivery coordination across the entire production run. Professional print management helps maintain quality standards consistent with the company’s corporate expectations and listed company requirements. It also supports deadline management by coordinating between design approval, material procurement, and production scheduling.

How are marine logistics operations presented visually in annual reports?

Marine logistics operations are typically presented through fleet statistics, vessel utilisation infographics, route maps, and service area breakdowns that communicate operational scale and regional coverage. Visual formats help stakeholders understand the breadth and reach of services more effectively than text descriptions alone. Photography of offshore support vessels, marine transport assets, and offshore operations adds tangible context to the data presented.

What makes a good annual report for a listed company?

A good annual report for a listed company balances regulatory compliance with strategic communication that engages shareholders and market analysts. It presents financial data clearly, demonstrates corporate governance, and communicates the company’s operational performance and strategic direction. Print and design quality should reflect the standards expected by institutional investors and the financial community.

How long does annual report production take from concept to print?

Annual report production typically requires eight to fourteen weeks, depending on page count, content complexity, and approval cycles. Projects with print production and supporting report copywriting may require additional time for colour proofing, material sourcing, and delivery logistics. Projects involving multiple stakeholder approvals or complex data content may extend the timeline at the review stage.
